Samsung Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8+ With Bixby Virtual Assistant, Infinity Display Launched

The much awaited Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ have been announced by Samsung in the Unpacked event today. These two new phones actually look very good and after the whole Galaxy Note 7 fiasco, Samsung had to make a comeback and by launching the Galaxy S8 and S8+ they have definitely done that. The phones will go on sale starting April 21 and they come in four different colors, Midnight Black, Orchid Gray, Arctic Silver, Coral Blue and Maple Gold.

As per Samsung, the Galaxy S8 and S8+ are now more intelligent with their new Bixby Virtual Assistant which is Samsung’s second attempt at introducing a virtual assistant on their phones (remember the S Voice?). The phone features curved display, Iris Scanner and more. Let’s dive deeper to know more about the phones.

The Samsung Galaxy S8 is a 5.8-inch device with a Super AMOLED display with QHD+ resolution of 1440×2960 pixels. The Samsung Galaxy S8+ on the other hand, features a 6.2-inch display with the same QHD+ resolution and Super AMOLED screen. Everything else on these phones is same. Both of these phone’s screen are protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5 and the screens also support HDR.

Under the hood, you will get Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 835 along with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage which is also expandable up to 256GB. The phones now have USB Type-C connector instead of micro USB which is a good thing. The finger print scanner is not on the back right beside the camera.

Coming to the camera, the primary camera is a 12MP shooter with dual pixels and the camera is the same as what was present on the Galaxy S7. Samsung has just reworked on the image processing software to make sure the images turn out better. The camera has optical image stabilization and an aperture of f/1.7. On the front, you will find an 8MP camera with autofocus and this camera has an aperture of f/1.7 as well.

Samsung is planning to launch Exynos 8895 models as well and they will most probably launch it in India. The Samsung Galaxy S8 will have a battery of 3000mAh while the S8+ features a 3500mAh battery.

Samsung has included new earphones tuned by AKG by Harman with the phone which is a good thing. The Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ look really good and we cannot wait to review it. Samsung has priced the phones at $750 for the Galaxy S8 and $850 for the S8+. Hold tight for the India launch.
