Samsung Galaxy S8 Active Rugged Handset With 5.8 inch QHD+ Display Announced

Samsung has officially introduced its Galaxy S8 Active which is as tough and durable as it gets for a mainstream phone. The Galaxy S8 Active is a shock, shatter, water and dust proof handset which comes in Meteor Gray and Titanium Gold color options.

Galaxy S8 Active will be exclusively available on AT&T for USD 28.34 per month for 30 months contract and will go on pre-order from tomorrow onwards.

Now let’s talk about the specifications. The Galaxy S8 Active flaunts a 5.8 inch Quad HD+ Super AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection on top. It is powered by octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor clubbed with Adreno 540 GPU and 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM. It has 64GB of inbuilt memory which is expandable by up to another 128GB via microSD card slot.

Galaxy S8 Active sports a 12 MP dual pixel rear camera with Led flash light, f/1.7 aperture and OIS. It bears an 8 MP auto focus front facing camera with f/1.7 aperture and 80-degree wide angle lens. It is backed by massive 4000mAh battery with fast charging support.

This Android 7.0 Nougat based handset comes with IP68 + MIL-STD-810G certification. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, 3G / HSPA+, EDGE / GPRS, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, VHT80 MU-MIMO, Bluetooth v 5.0, GPS with GLONASS, USB 3.1 slot, NFC, MST and 3.5mm audio jack.
