Samsung Galaxy Note 4 – Specifications, Price & Hands-on

Finally the most awaited phablet of the year is here. Yes, we are talking about the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 which has been launched today in India for Rs 58,300. Although it has been unveiled at IFA last month and in this post we will let you know all the details about the Samsung Galaxy Note 4. Samsung Galaxy Note 4 hands on video :


Before Note 4, all the previous versions of Galaxy Note used to have plastic exterior. However, this time Samsung has changed the trend and Note 4 is supported by a thin and sleek metal band on the edges with elegant curves at the corners. The rear side of the Note 4 is a textured faux leather which provides good grip. The most amazing and shocking thing is the thickness. Galaxy Note 4 is thicker than the Note 3. The front of the Note 4 has a 2.5D glass profile and when it is viewed from the top, it looks like the screen is floating. Many fans were expecting that the NOTE 4 would be resistant to water and dust but it is not. The reason behind this and as claimed by the Samsung is that the Note 4 is designed for using productivity features and is targeted towards creative users. For a water resistance device, they can go for Samsung S5.


Galaxy Note 4 comes with a 5.7 inch super AMOLED display screen which has a Quad HD resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels. It is clearly one of the best displays we have seen in any smartphone available in the market.

Processor and Graphics

Galaxy Note 4 features Snapdragon 805 quad-core Krait 450 processor, which can produce a speed of 2.7 GHz along with Adreno 420 graphics. The specs are quite powerful and can handle all your multi-tasking, apps and games with ease.

RAM and Storage

Just like Galaxy Note 3, Samsung Galaxy Note 4 comes with a 3 GB RAM. Note 4 will only be available in 32 GB inbuilt storage option. However, memory can be expanded up to 64 GB by using a MicroSD card.

Sensors and S-Pen

The S-Pen stylus comes with high level of pressure sensitivity. The S-Pen has a detachable tip and a user can choose either rubber tip for gaming or plastic tip for writing. A new feature called Smart Select is added to the S-Pen which allows a user to copy specific portions of any website using the stylus and store it online to read or view them later. The Galaxy Note 4 has almost all the sensors like proximity, accelerometer, fingerprint scanner, gyroscope, hall sensor, barometer, ultraviolet sensor, and heart rate sensor.


Galaxy Note 4 supports a 16MP camera with Optical Image Stabilization along with a single LED flash. Videos up to 2160p quality can be recorded at 30fps. The front camera is of 3.7MP which comes with f/1.9 and can record good quality videos at 1080p.


Samsung Galaxy Note 4 uses Android v4.4.4 KitKat. One of the most exclusive feature of Note 4 is the multi-window feature which can be accessed from Recent Apps. The OS is supported by the proprietary launcher and the TouchWiz UI.

Battery and Connectivity

It supports 4G LTE and 3G. Other connectivity options available are 4G LTE-A Cat.6 / 3G HSPA+ up to 42 Mbps, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (HT80) MIMO PCIe , Bluetooth v4.1 LE / ANT+, GPS / GLONASS / Beidou, USB2.0, MHL 3.0.
Note 4 has a 3220mAh battery inside it which would take only 99 minutes to get fully charged. The battery life can be extended by up to 15.2 days with the use of ultra power saving mode.


Samsung Galaxy Note 4 has been launched in India for Rs 58,300 and it will go on sale from 17 october 2014.


The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is simply one of the most strongest and durable smartphones in the market. It has passed all the high pressure bending tests and clearly it is one of the best phablet in the world.  At 58,300 it is around 4,000 INR cheaper than the iPhone 6 plus which might give it an upper hand in the market.
