Display & Design
Galaxy Grand 2 looks similar to its predecessor but it is bigger in size. It measures 146.8 x 75.3 x 8.9 mm and weighs around 163 grams. The only noticeable difference between the two devices is the faux-leather texture on Grand 2.
In front you have a 5.25 inch HD display which has a resolution of 720×1280 pixels. The display is quite good with decent viewing angles and sunlight readability. We didn’t face any problems while using the touch of the device.
Above the display there is a 1.9 megapixel front facing camera for video calling, an earpiece, ambient light and proximity sensors. You will also find Samsung branding just below the earpiece and Duos branding on the right of it indicating that it is a dual SIM smartphone.
On the bottom we have the microUSB port which is used for charging your device as well as for data transfer. Along with the microUSB port you will find the primary microphone.
Moving to the back of the device you will find a 8 megapixel camera along with LED flash on the left side and speaker grill on the right. Just below the camera you will find the Samsung branding. The back panel has a faux-leather texture and just like other Samsung devices it can be removed.
If you remove the back cover you will find a 2600 mAH battery and two micro SIM card slots along with a microSD slot just above the first micro SIM slot.
Overall, the device has good build quality and it is definitely one of the best smartphone in terms of build quality in this range. The device has a 5.25 inch display which might cause some problems while operating it with just one hand unless you turn on the one handed operation feature.
