Samsung Electronics has announced one more attractive “Sleek Silver” color option for its recently launched – Galaxy Alpha smartphone. Galaxy Alpha is the first Samsung smartphone with a metallic frame and was introduced in India in September 2014. It is now available in Charcoal Black, Dazzling White, Frosted Gold and the new Sleek Silver color, priced at 37,999 INR.
Like other Samsung high end smartphones, this one also employs a Super AMOLED display panel 4.7 inches in size and with 1280 x 720 pixels spread across it. Galaxy Alpha is powered by Samsungs own Exynos Octa core processor with four cortex A15 cores clocked at 1.8 GHz and another four cortex A7 cores clocked at 1.3 GHz
Either of the two groups will be active based on the work load. There is 2 GB RAM, Mali T628 MP6 GPU and 32 GB internal storage. Unlike other high end Samsung smartphones, this one doesn’t come with SD card slot for further expansion.
Galaxy Alpha is quite sleek at 6.7 mm and houses an 1860 mAh battery. Though microSD card slot has been compromised to give way to slim design, the battery is still removable. There is a 12 MP camera on the rear side capable of recording 4K videos and a 2.1 MP front facing camera for selfies.
Connectivity features include 4G LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11ac (2X2 MIMO), Bluetooth v4.0 LE, GPS, GLONASS and NFC. Software is Android 4.4.4 KitKat with TouchWiz UI on top. Samsung has also included Ultra-Power Saving Mode, S Health, Finger Print Scanner, Private Mode, Heart Rate Monitor and connectivity with the latest Samsung Gear Fit, Gear 2, Gear 2 Neo, and Gear S wearable’s.
