Design & Build Quality

If you ask me what is the best thing in Arya A1 plus, I would say build quality. The phone feels solid and sturdy when you hold it. It is an entry level smartphone but does not feel cheap or plasticky. A1 Plus comes with a 4.5 inch qHD IPS OGS Touchscreen display which is decent in terms of viewing angles & brightness levels. Though we don’t have any complaints with it but a HD display would have been better.

Above the display you have a 2 megapixel camera which is capable of capturing interpolated images of upto 5 megapixel. Along with the front facing camera you have an earpiece and hidden proximity and ambient light sensors.

Below the display you have three usual Android touch buttons – Menu, Home and back. These buttons do not have any kind of back light.

On the right side you have the power/lock key and volume rocker is present on the other side. You can notice a glossy fake metallic finish on the sides which give this device a premium look. Both volume rocker and power key have metallic finish.

You have the 3.5mm Audio jack and micro USB port at the top of the device. There is a just a primary mic preset at the bottom of the device.

Moving to the back of the phone, it comes with a removable back panel which is made up of plastic. Company provides two additional back panels in the box. You have a 5 megapixel camera along with LED flash and a loudspeaker at the back. Back camera can be used to capture interpolated images of 8 megapixel resolution.

If you open the back panel, underneath you will find two SIM card slots, a micro SD card slot and a 2000 mAh battery.

Overall, it is a good device as far as build quality is concerned. But you can’t just buy a device with good build quality, can you? Continue reading toout about the performance of this device.

Hardware & Performance

Arya A1 PLus is powered by a 1.3 Ghz quad core processor along with 1 GB RAM and 8 GB internal storage. The processor is powerful enough to handle your day to day tasks and apps. For a Sub 6,000 INR device it is a great configuration and you won’t be disappointed with it.

We ran few benchmark tests on the device and did a small Gaming Review to check its performance. Watch the video below to see the benchmark results and the Gameplay:

The device scored pretty well in the benchmark tests and it was able to handle mid and low end games without any issues. As far as normal or daily use is concerned the device is pretty good. Talking about the connectivity features, it is a Dual SIM device and supports 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS.

The phone runs on Android 4.4.2 KitKat OS. The interface is smooth and you won’t face any kind of lag or slowness while navigating through the home screens or while opening/closing the applications. It comes pre-loaded with applications like Amazon, Amazon Appstore and Amazon Kindle. No unnecessary app is present on the device which is a good thing because you get around 6GB of storage available on the device.

Arya A1 Plus comes with a 5 megapixel back camera with LED flash. Here is a video review of the back camera along with features and sample images:

The camera supports various modes like Live Photo Mode, Beauty face mode and panorama mode. Users can capture interpolate 8 megapixel images using the back camera. Here are sample images captured using the back camera:

The quality of captured images is good for a 5 megapixel camera and it can also record good quality 1080p videos.

Battery Life

The phone comes with a 2000 mAh removable battery. The battery life of the phone is impressive. With moderate usage it lasted for a day and half. Even with heavy usage it can last for an entire day which is good for a smartphone.

Arya A1 Plus is available exclusively on for Rs 5,499. It is surely a great smartphone at this price point. The phone stands out in the market due to a great build quality and impressive battery life. If you have a budget of around 5-6k INR you can definitely checkout Arya A1 Plus.
