OPPO teases ‘5x’ – Smartphone Photography Technology to be unveiled at MWC

As he Mobile World Congress 2017 approaches, we see smartphone manufacturers trying to gain the media’s attention by announcing something new everyday. OPPO has been a big smartphone seller in India, mainly because unlike other companies, they do sell their phones offline in brick and mortar stores.

Anyway, OPPO has sent out press releases about 5x which is going to be their new Smartphone Photography Technology that will be announced at MWC 2017. As per OPPO, this new tech will allow users to capture images with great detail and accurate colors.

The company mostly sells their phone as Camera Phone in India seems to be having serious research and work when it comes to smartphone imaging. This can be seen in their camera-centric phones like the Oppo F1, F1 Plus and the F1S. We can only do nothing but wait until MWC to see what OPPO has to offer with 5x but they did have some great stuff in their smartphones in the past.

At MWC 2016, the company announced the SmartSensor image stabilization technology which is one of the smallest image stabilizers for smartphones. As OPPO continues to provide these camera features in their smartphones, they continue to gain more market share in India.

As per IDC’s 2016 data, OPPO has control of over 6.8 percent of the global smartphone market. They shipped about 99.5 million smartphones in 2016 which is 133% growth that the company has seen.
