Chinese manufacturer OnePlus is all set to launch of its next flagship killer, the One Plus 2 after the huge success of OnePlus One, on 27th July. The event of OnePlus 2 will stream live on on 27th July 2015 at 7 pm PT (7.30 am IST) and notably this will be world’s first VR (Virtual Reality) product launch.
How will this be any different or better? OnePlus explains in the new blogpost.
“A VR launch lets you stand right next to our team and our fans as we unveil our new flagship. You’ll be able to look around as you check out the phone in a new way and maybe even find a few hidden Easter eggs. It’s a new way of thinking about a product launch. We aren’t talking at you; we are talking with you.”
Google Cardboard VR headset has shot to popularity in short span of time, especially after it was highlighted at Google IO this year. OnePlus has improved Google cardboard and made it more fitted for the OnePlus One. Fans can get this shipped for around 300 INR to enjoy VR experience on OnePlus devices.
As far as specification is concerned, the company is using the improved version of Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 SoC for this phone to address the heating problem using better heat dissipation and management under the hood and by better software optimization. It is also the first phone to come with Type C USB cable which is reversible and offers faster data transfer speed.
It’s predecessor was running on Cyanogen OS whereas OnePlus 2 will be running company’s own OxygenOS, which is very close to Google’s stock Android experience. According to some rumours, OnePlus 2 will be coming with 5.5 inch full HD display, 4 GB RAM and 3300 mAh battery.
It is expected to be built from metal and flaunt a unibody design. OnePlus will release bits and peices of the Two every week till the big day arrives and then, we will get to see the full picture.
