Nokia Lumia 630 launched in India starting for Rs. 10,500

Microsoft Mobile formerly known as Nokia, has launched its first handset after the acquisition in India on May 12, 2013. Microsoft had announced three WP 8.1 running handsets that will be launched soon and one of them have been announced.

The first dual SIM WP and the first WP 8.1 running smartphone, Nokia Lumia 630 have been announced in India in two variants – the single SIM and the dual SIM. The dual SIM variant will be available by May 16, 2014 followed by single SIM variant later this month. The handsets have been priced very aggressively at Rs. 10,500 for the single SIM and Rs. 11,500 for the dual SIM variant.

Coming to the specifications, the Nokia Lumia 630 packs a 4.5-inch FWVGA display with ClearBlack technology. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 quad-core procesor with 512MB RAM and 8GB internal memory. It comes with a 5MP AF rear camera and does not have any front-facing camera. It runs by a 1830 mAh battery and supports micro dual SIM standby.

Nokia Lumia 630 comes bundled with few exciting offers including video app Box TV offering some content free for 2 months, eBooks worth Rs. 2000 from Flipkart, six games by Gamesloft and free streaming from NexGTv app for IPL season. Getting the pricing right and the increasing popularity of Windows Phone handsets, I think there is a fair chance that the public might show interest in this smartphone.
