Microsoft today introduced what might very well be its last feature phone – the Nokia 216 – that comes with LED flash and Camera on both front and rear. The new Microsoft feature phone will cost 2,495 INR in India.
The Nokia 216 comes with a 2.8-inch color display with 320 x 240 pixels encased in a polycarbonate body. Both camera sensors in this dual SIM handset have VGA resolution, which means it would be unwise to expect much, even with the LED flash support.
The software is Nokia’s Series 30+ OS. The 1020mAh battery inside will last for 18 hours of talk time and 19 days of standby time, claims the company. You can also add up to 32GB of MicroSD card storage. Other feature includes 2G, Bluetooth 3.0 with Slam sharing, Micro USB and FM radio.
Since Microsoft has already sold the feature phone business to Foxconn subsidiary FIH Mobile for $350 million and the 10-year license for Nokia brand name to Finnish company HMD Global. The deal is expected to materialize by the end of this year, which isn’t all that far off, and thus this could be the last Nokia branded feature phone, or at least the last one manufactured by Microsoft itself.
In India, the Nokia 216 Dual will retail in Black, Grey and Blue colors for Rs. 2,495. You will have to wait till 24th of October if you plan on buying one.
