Nikon has launched their two new D-SLR cameras, the high-end D4S and the entry level D-SLR D3300 in India. Nikon entry level D3300 was announced at CES 2014 and was available in the country through various channels but today it has been officially announced with body only, body + AF-S 18-55mm VRII kit lens and body + AF-S 55-200mm VRII lens kit.
The Nikon D3300 features a 24.2-megapixel DX-format CMOS sensor without an optical low-pass filter and the latest EXPEED 4 image processing system. It offers full-HD movie recording at 1080p at 60fps. The D3300 has 13 special effect modes, lighter body weight, and new optical design. The camera will allow users to use the WU-1a Wireless Mobile Adapter to wirelessly control the camera’s shutter and transfer images to smartphones and tablets running Android or iOS operating system.
On the other hand, D4S is a full frame camera with a 16.2-megapixel FX-format CMOS sensor similar to the Nikon D3S. It features EXPEED 4 image-processing engine, with ISO ranging from of 100-25,600. The camera has single-point AF, dynamic-area AF, 3D-tracking, auto-area AF and group-area AF features. According to Nikon, this helps ensure not just smooth and fast auto-focusing, but also allows users to shoot at 11fps with AF and AE tracking.
Pricing and Availability
The Nikon D3300 is now available at Rs. 32,450 (only body), Rs. 37,950 (body and AF-S 18-55mm VRII kit lens) and Rs. 46,950 (body and AF-S 18-55mm VRII + AF-S 55-200mm VR Kit Lenses) and the Nikon D4S will be available from March end for Rs. 4,19,950.
