Nikon Corporation on April 15, 2014 announced that three of their products have been awarded the prestigious ‘Red dot awards 2014’ in the product design category.
Red Dot Awards : Product Design is a world-class award presented to products released over the past two years that exhibit superiority in terms of a total of nine aspects, including innovation, functionality, ergonomics, ecology, and durability.
Out of 4,815 products from 1,816 companies in 53 countries who were the participants of this competition, Nikon products won this award will be on display at a special exhibition to be held from July 8, 2014 to August 3, 2014 at the Red Dot Design Museum in Essen, Germany.
The three products that won the award are: Nikon DF, Nikon FX-format digital SLR camera, the D5300 digital SLR camera, and the ACULON T51 binoculars.
Nikon DF packs the smallest and lightest body in the history of Nikon FX digital SLR cameras. It produces super image quality with the intuitive dial operation offering a pixel count of 16.25-million pixels. It combines of FX-format CMOS sensor and EXPEED 3 image-processing engine, which easily handles variety of lighting conditions.
Nikon D5300 on the other hand is a entry level digital SLR camera quipped with Nikon DX format CMOS sensor offering 24.2-million pixels, no optical low-pass filter, and the high-performance EXPEED 4 image-processing engine.
The ACULON T51 binoculars is a very compact and elegant designed to be extremely portable. It has been made of aluminium which gives it a light weight while preserving the stylish design and durability.
