[MWC 2017] Alcatel announces three new affordable smartphones
Alcatel has launched three new Android smartphones in the budget and medium range segment at the MWC 2017. They announced the Alcatel U5, A3, and A5 LED targeting the user base who buys a medium range smartphone. The A5 LED has a LED back which is quite interesting.
The first of the three smartphones launched is the Alcatel U5 which is a 5-inch smartphone and the phone has a MediaTek MT6737M processor with 1GB RAM. You get 8GB internal storage along with microSD card support and in the camera department, the phone has a 5MP primary camera with a 2MP front-facing camera and both of these cameras have LED flash. The phone is powered by a 2050mAh battery. As you can conclude from the specs, the phone is a very budget device.
Next, we have the Alcatel A3 which is also a 5-inch smartphone but you get a somewhat better processor, the MediaTek MT6737 and 1.5GB RAM with 16GB storage on the phone. You can expand the storage with a microSD card. You get a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front-facing camera. There’s also a fingerprint sensor for security and you get a 2460mAh battery on the phone.
Coming to the Alcatel A5 LED, this is probably one of the most unique smartphones launched at the MWC 2017. The phone actually comes with LED covers that you can setup to show a variety of LED light patterns. You have the freedom to show different colors and designs for different contacts and notifications. Listening to music with this cover is also a unique experience. This is a 5.2-inch 720p display and has a 1.5GHz octa-core MT6753 processor with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage. You get an 8MP camera with a 5MP front camera and both of them have LED flash. You have a battery of 2800mAh on the phone.
