Sony’s Xperia X series aims to make your smartphones smarter. The company today launched three new handsets – X, X Performance and XA, at MWC 2016. The new X series phone include technologies like predictive auto focus and better battery management with Qnovo Adaptive Charging software to improve battery life between charges.
The Xperia XA will be the lower end of the three and will carry forward Sony’s new X series vision at mid-range price. Sony Xperia XA includes a 5-inch HD curved glass edge to edge display and is powered by 2.0 GHz MediaTek Helio P10 (MT6755) octa-core processor with 700MHz Mali T860MP2 GPU, 2GB RAM and 16GB expandable storage.
The handset is running Android 6.0 Lollipop based software. For photography, there is 13MP Primary Camera with 1/3” IMX258 Exmos RS sensor and 8MP front-facing camera with Sony IMX219 Exmor R sensor and wide angle lens.
The dual SIM handset also includes 4G LTE, WiFi 820.11 a/b/g/n , Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, NFC and a modest 2300 mAh battery. The handset will be available in White, Graphite Black, Lime Gold and Rose Gold colors. Unlike its elder siblings Xperia X and X Performance, this one is carved in polycarbonate instead of metal.
