At IFA 2016, Motorola has unveiled a new mid-range smartphone dubbed as Moto Z Play. It will be available globally in six attractive color variants including Black, Silver, Black Slate, White, Fine Gold and Sugar White from this month itself at USD 449.99. Moto Z Play same handset will be available for USD 499 in Europe and for USD 408 in the US.
Moto Z Play comes with a 5.5-inch full HD Super AMOLED display which is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass and amounts to 403ppi pixel density. This Android 6.0 Marshmallow based smartphone employs a 3510mAh battery with turbo charging support and also comes integrated with fingerprint sensor embedded in the home button.
Moto Z Play is handled by 2.0 GHz Octa Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 CPU, assisted by Adreno 506 GPU and 3GB of RAM. It has two storage variants- 32GB and 64GB of flash storage- and both include option for adding up to 2TB of secondary storage.
If we talk about optics section, Moto Z Play includes a 16MP rear camera with PDAF, Laser auto focus, dual tone LED flash and f/2.0 aperture. It also bears a 5 MP front camera with LED flash which enables you to capture detailed selfies even in low lights.
All Moto Mods or modular accessories (which debuted alongside the Moto Z) that add another layer of functionality to Z series handsets are compatible with Moto Z Play as well. The company also introduced a new Moto Mod with the Z Play. The new camera-centric Moto Mod is called True Zoom and allows you to add 10x optical.
