Microsoft launches World’s first ever Priority Reseller Store in India

One of the biggest technology company, Microsoft has started the transition of Nokia based outlets to Microsoft. It is a world wide known fact that Nokia is now owned by Microsoft and the Lumia series is now known as Microsoft Lumia. To begin with the transition, the 1st ever Microsoft Priority Reseller Store in the world was opened in India at Ambience Mall, Gurgaon. The all new re-branded store was unveiled by Mr. Chris Weber, Corporate Vice President, Mobile Device Sales at Microsoft.


There are 15,684 retail outlets and 324 care centers across the globe which will get a complete makeover from Nokia to Microsoft. The company has decided to give a complete makeover like new furniture and signage for 3287 outlets while the rest will only get refreshed with existing furniture being refurbished to the Microsoft branding with new signage.


It is a proud moment for India as India is the first country to get the new look. The transition started with Ambience Mall and will be made across a total of 8,872 stores and 119 Care centres. Total of 441 outlets will get the complete makeover while the rest will be refreshed with new signage. It is expected that the new look stores will allow a better shopper experience and a complete new experience to the users.


The retail transition marks the  beginning of a new era for the current Nokia stores and it is a big step for the Microsoft brand in terms of business and  improving its retail footprint. Microsoft will be able to reach out to million of new customers with these new re-branded stores. Microsoft has also came up with a new name for the stores. The branded retail stores will be called ‘Microsoft Priority Reseller stores’ and the value and experience stores will be known as ‘Microsoft Mobile Reseller stores’.


The company will provide the same kind of world class service for which Nokia was famous and all the existing Nokia and Lumia devices will continue to be serviced through these Care centers.
