Micromax Canvas Pep Q371 Similar to Android One Phones Launched at Rs. 5,999

India’s leading smartphone maker, Micromax has today added a new entry level smartphone Canvas Pep Q371 to its Canvas series. This smartphone will be available at most of the online and offline retailers for Rs. 5,999 starting from today onwards.

Canvas Pep Q371 features a 4.5 inch FWVGA (480×854 pixels) display which amounts to 218 ppi. It is powered by 1.3 GHz Quad Core processor (most likely MediaTek MT6582M) paired with 1 GB of RAM. The company has not revealed internal memory of this device but it has expandable memory up to 32 GB via Micro SD card.

On the photography front, Canvas Pep Q371 sports a 5 MP rear shooter with LED flash and also there is a VGA front camera onboard for selfie lovers and video chats. It also includes a 1700 mAh battery which can deliver up to 210 hours of battery backup.

Canvas Pep Q371 is running Android 4.4 KitKat and company hasn’t disclosed that it will be updated with Android Lollipop later or not. Speaking of updates, Micromax recently announced that it will update Canvas series device with Android 5.0 Lollipop.

Connectivity options include EDGE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPRS, GPS, Micro USB port and dual SIM card slots. On the specs front, the handset is very similar to Andriod One smartphones.

Canvas Pep Q371 will compete against Xiaomi Redmi 1s, Asus Zenfone C, Micromax Canvas A1, Asus Zenfone 4, Moto E etc. In Indian market.
