Micromax has today added a new budget smartphone to its Bolt series- Bolt D303 in India. Bolt D303 will be available at most of the retail channels at best buy price of 3,499 INR.
The company touts that it is first smartphone in this price range which comes with messaging service which allows users to translate, transliterate easily in any of the supported 10 regional languages. Earlier we saw the same feature on Micromax Unite 3, which is selling for a slightly higher price.
Bolt D303 comes with a 4 inch display with the resolution of 480X800 pixels and is equipped with dual core processor clocked at 1.3 GHz, backed by 512 MB of RAM. It bears a 4 GB of internal storage space which is further expandable by up to 32 GB through micro SD card slot.
Bolt D303 is fitted with a 3.2 mega pixel auto focus camera on its rear side and also has a VGA camera at front for selfies. It is powered by a 1300 mAh battery which is able to deliver up to 4.5 hours of talk time and 245 hours of standby time.
Bolt D303 is running Android 4.4 KitKat OS which is slightly dated, but the company claims that it will be upgraded to Android 5.0 Lollipop OS via FOTA. Connectivity features include EDGE, 3G, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth 4.0, Micro USB port, 3.5 mm audio jack, dual SIM functionality etc.
Besides Swipe feature (Swipe right to translate or left to transliterate your messages in your favourite regional language), Micromax Bolt D303 also comes with App Bazaar in regional languages where customers can download more than 10,000 apps.
Other pre-loaded apps on the device include Chatz, Clean Master, Hotstar, Housing, NewsHunt, Quickr, Scandid, and Snapdeal. Since native storage is only 4 GB, we expect there will be option to uninstall atleast some of these apps.
