LG today launched a one of its kind smartphone K7i at first India Mobile Congress held in New Delhi. What makes LG K7i unique is its ability to repel mosquitoes, aka Mosquito Away technology. It will be available across online and offline stores for 7,990 INR.
The phone uses LG technology that’s conventionally also available in other LG appliances. The phone emits high-frequency sound waves that are beyond what human ears can hear. The phone can repel mosquitoes within a range of one meter using these sound waves without any risk of radiation hazard.
Apart from its Mosquito repelling superpowers the LG K7i I fairly standard budget phone. It has a 5-inch screen with 854 x 480 pixels (FWVGA) and is powered by a feeble 1.0GHz quad-core processor paired with 2GB RAM and paltry 16GB storage (up to 32GB SD card support). Moreover, the software is Android 6.0 Marshmallow which is now 2 generations old.
The LG K7i measures 145.7 x 74.1 x 8.1 mm and has the power button on the rear. This also doubles as a fingerprint reader. For photography, this dual SIM phone has an 8MP rear camera with LED flash and a basic 5MP front snapper for selfies.
Other features include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS and a 2500mAh battery.
“LG has always been at the forefront of unique innovations. With this launch, LG is bringing the mosquito away technology closer to the consumers in the form of a mobile device which can be an integral part of their daily lives,” said Amit Gujral, Chief Marketing Officer, LG Electronics India.
