LeEco is hosting its second grand event in Mumbai on May 3, 2016 and besides other announcements, an India specific phone is also rumored to be on the cards.
The start of tomorrow’s show will undoubtedly be LeEco’s entertainment ecosystem. The Chinese content giant is expected to detail what it partnerships it has been working on to offload a meaningful content ecosystem in the country. It has already announced premium Eros and Yupp TV subscriptions for Le 1s and Le Max users in India.
Besides the content ecosystem, LeEco will expected to release a low cost smartphone made specifically for Indian smartphone market. LeEco has so far launched 2 device in India – Le Max and Le 1s – with a huge price gap in between. The new India specific handset could be priced for less than Le 1s or perhaps somewhere between LeMax and Le 1s (which makes more sense in our opinion).
“You’ve heard the rumours – friends in the media talking about it, hushed conversations in coffee shops, cryptic messages on web forums. Well, it’s time to finally say it out aloud and end the mystery. On May 3, 2016, entertainment will play in a whole new way. Superfans, LeEco officially invites you to be a part of our movement to redefine entertainment,” stated the social media post from the company.
You have to take these rumors with a pinch of salt, but luckily you won’t have to wait much longer to know what’s coming.
