Lava X28 With Android Marshmallow Launched At 7,349 INR

Domestic smartphone manufacturer Lava mobiles today introduced Lava X28, an affordable Android handset running Android 6.0 Marshmallow, priced at 7,349 INR.

The Lava X28 includes a 5-inch HD display and is powered by 1.3GHz quad-core processor (details unspecified) coupled with meagre 1GB RAM and 8GB storage. In 2016, these specs seem plain disappointing. Even considering the option for 32GB expandable MicroSD card storage.

Other hardware isn’t much promising either. The Lava X28 includes an 8MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera, both with LED flash to assist with low light photography.  The new Lava phone also houses a 2600mAh battery. Other features include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, dual SIM support and FM radio.

The handset measures 155x78x8.95mm and is quite heavy at 175 grams. The only interesting thing about the Lava X28 seems to be the Android Marshmallow OS. All hardware points to this being a handset targeting offline market. If you are willing to consider online options, phones like Xiaomi Redmi 3s, Le 1s Eco and Moto E3 Power should offer a better day-to-day usage experience.
