Lava has today launched two new entry level handsets, the Lava Iris Atom and Iris Atom 3 in India for 4,289 INR and 4,899 INR respectively. Both smartphones flaunt similar design and hardware.
Both handsets are powered by 1.3GHz quad-core processor, with 512MB RAM and 8GB storage. The chipset is very modest and it goes without saying that these phones are meant for most basic of Android users or those switching from feature phones and interested only in basic smartphone functionality.
On the software front, Lava has included reasonably up to date Android 5.1 Lollipop on both devices. Lava has also included smart gesture control features that allow a user to launch applications (W- browser, M-music, V-video player, Z-radio) from locked screen. For photography, both Iris Atom and Iris Atom 3 have 5MP rear camera sensor.
The Iris Atom has a 4 Inch WVGA display, 1550mAh battery and a VGA selfies camera. On the other hand, Iris Atom 3 has bigger 5 Inch display with FWVGA resolution, 2MP selfies camera and a 2000 mAh battery. Other features include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB, and 3G capability.
Both handsets are meant for offline retail. The primary difference here is the display size. Iris Atom 3 offers bigger 5 Inch display and Iris Atom is relative smaller and more manageable.
