Design & Build Quality
InFocus M2 comes with a great build quality and design. It weighs around 145 grams and is easy to hold. The device is available in White and Black color options. The front is dominated by a 4.2 inch WXGA (1280×768) display which has a pixel density of 355 ppi. Talking about the display, it is surely one of the best display you can get in Sub 5,000 INR device. The display is sharp, bright and has good outdoor readability.
Above the display you have a massive 8 megapixel front facing camera along with a LED flash. We can’t think of any other device in this price segment which offers an eight megapixel front facing camera. You also have a notification LED along with proximity and ambient light sensors in the front.
Below the display you have three usual Android capacitive touch buttons – Menu, Home and Back. The buttons don’t have any kind of haptic feedback. The size of top & bottom bezels is pretty huge which increases the overall dimensions of the device.
You will find a volume rocker on the left side of the phone and a power/lock key on the right. Both the keys have metallic finish and works pretty well.
Moving to the back, M2 comes with a removable back panel which has a matte finish. You will find an 8 megapixel camera along with LED flash and InFocus branding at the back.
If you remove the back cover, underneath it you will find a 2,010 mAh non removable battery along with two micro SIM card slots and a micro SD card slot. At the bottom of the device you have primary mic for voice calling and a micro USB port.
A 3.5mm Audio jack is present at the top of the phone. We don’t have any complaints with the device as far as build quality is concerned. Overall, InFocus M2 has best build quality you will find in this price segment.
Hardware & Performance
The phone is powered by a 1.3 Ghz quad core Mediatek MT6582 processor along with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage which can be expanded by using a microSD card. For an affordable smartphone, it is powerful enough to handle your daily tasks and apps.
To measure the performance we ran few benchmark tests on the device – Antutu, GeekBench 3, Nenamark2, Geekbench 3 & Quadrant Standard. Watch the video below to checkout the benchmark scores:
The phone can handle most of the games available for the Android platform. It was able to run Asphalt 8 on high settings but the game play was not smooth. Talking about the connectivity features it supports 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS.
InFocus M2 runs on Android 4.4.2 KitKat OS which has been modified by the company. We didn’t face any kind of lag while navigating through the interface but there was a minor delay while launching the applications. Overall, the device is meant for budget customers and it won’t disappoint them.
The phone comes with an 8 megapixel back camera along with LED flash. The back camera can record 1080p videos and it works pretty well. Here are some sample images captured using the back camera:
The quality of captured images is quite good and it is definitely one of the best camera smartphone in Sub 5,000 INR segment. The phone also has an 8 megapixel front facing camera for capturing selfies. The quality of front camera is not upto the mark for an 8 megapixel camera.
The phone is powered by a 2,010 mAh non removable battery which can last for an entire day with moderate usage. Since the device has a smaller 4.2 inch display, the battery life is pretty good.
InFocus M2 is available exclusively on Snapdeal.com for Rs 4,999. At this price point it is an excellent device and we highly recommend you to buy this device if you are looking for an affordable smartphone with great build quality.
