Infinix, a sub-brand of transsion holdings, is about to launch its new flagship smartphone for India with bezel-less display called the Zero 5 at an event in Dubai on November 14. It will be available in a few attractive colors including envious Red and is expected to be priced below 20,000 INR.
Prior to Zero 5, Infinix tested waters with its affordable Note and Hot series phones. Perhaps now the company is more confident and will be bringing in its Zero 5 Plus at a gala launch. The main highlight of this smartphone is that it comes with dual rear cameras. The teaser image of the handset on invite makes it clear that one of the sensors will have a wide angle lens and the other will have a telephoto lens that can be used for up to 2X lossless optical zoom.
Out of the three familiar dual camera implementations, the one with the Telephoto lens is the most expensive one. This is the same implementation that we see in Apple’s iPhones, Samsung Galaxy Note8, OnePlus 5 and even Xiaomi’s Mi A1.
Zero 5 will flaunt a metal unibody design, will also embrace the latest 18:9 display trend and the screen will reportedly be protected by Corning Gorilla Glass. We don’t know anything about the chipset used on the phone, but initial reports claim that the SoC will be assisted by 6GB of RAM and the internal storage could be as high as 128GB. The phone will also have a microSD card to further add secondary storage.
Zero 5 will be available on two leading e-commerce retailers and will be rolling out by the end of this month. This handset will also go on sale in other international markets simultaneously. And since Infinix is an online only brand, you can expect the pricing to be very aggressive. We will know for sure on November 14 when the phone goes official.
