Idea launches ID 4000 3G smartphone in India for Rs. 4,999

Idea Cellular, India’s third largest telecom operator on June 19, 2014 launched ID 4000 3G smartphone in the country. Idea offers a vast array of 3G devices to make users switch from slow 2G to blazing fast 3G. They have smartphones and USB dongles to support their case bundling some 3G data with the handsets specifically.

The ID 4000 is a 4-inch Android running smartphone that is powered by a 1GHz dual core processor. It comes with 512MB RAM and 512MB on inbuilt storage with expandability via microSD card up to 32GB. Connectivity options include 3G, Wi-Fi, MicroUSB, and Bluetooth. It also features a 3.2MP camera and 1500mAh battery.

The Idea ID 4000 comes with a special offer for existing 3G users, offering 1.6GB of 3G data and Idea TV access free for three months, with a pack priced at Rs. 259.

For new users, 1.6GB of 3G data and Idea TV access free for three months will be offered with a pack of Rs. 261.

Pricing and Availability

The telecom company says it has already sold over 7 lakh devices from its earlier range of 3G smartphones. It will be available in Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Kerala, Maharashtra and Goa, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh (E) and Uttar Pradesh (W) basically where they have a 3G licence. The handset will be available for Rs. 4,999 as the MOP from Idea outlets across the 11 cities.
