This year at CES, Huawei announced that it will be bringing its giant flagship phone, the Mate 9, to US market. The phone will retail for $599.99 and will come with Amazon Alexa integrated within as an App that you can avail as a personal digital assistant. Looks like, the handset has been very well received.
Mate 9 managed to steel everyone’s attention and grabbed a total of 8 awards at CES this year, bestowed by renowned publications ( 9 would have been more like it, though). These includes names like The Wall Street Journal, Android Police, PC Advisor, TechnoBuffalo and more.
The Huawei Mate 9 comes with a 5.9-inch full HD display and is powered by the new Kirin 960 octa-core chipset paired with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. All hardware is powered by a 4000mAh battery that can charge rapidly, thanks to the proprietary SuperCharge technology.
Another interesting attribute is the dual rear cameras on the back with leica lenses. The handset has a 12MP color sensor and a 20MP monochrome sensor, feed from which are combined for high contrast, good quality images. The rear camera also includes laser AF, dual tone LED flash and laser autofocus.
Software is Android Nougat with Alexa integrated EMUI 5.0 on top. Other features include 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11ac (2.4GHz/5GHz), Bluetooth 4.2 LE, GPS, NFC, hybrid dual SIM slot, 8MP front camera and fingerprint sensor.
