Huawei has also announced Mate 10 along with its flagship smartphone Mate 10 Pro in Germany. It will also be available in four attractive color options including Champagne Gold, Pink Gold, Classic Black and Mocha Brown, in 15 countries starting from the end of the October for 699 Euros.
The major difference between the Mate 10 Pro and Mate 10 is that the latter uses a regular 16:9 display panel with sharper 2K resolution (vs Full HD+ on the pro model). This also makes the Mate 10 a bit broader than its pro sibling.
The Mate 10 sports a 5.9 inch Quad HD 2.5D Curved Glass display. It is equipped with Octa Core Kirin 970 10nm processor (4 cores x 1.8 GHz and 4 cores x 2.4 GHz) coupled with i7 co-processor and Mali G72 MP12 GPU. The SoC is paired with 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage.
The Chipset comes with its own neural processing engine that, according to Huawei, will assist with on-device machine learning and will help with proper allocation of system resources, thus avoiding lag that eventually creeps in Android phones over a period of usage.
For photography, the Huawei Mate 10 combines a 20MP monochrome and 12MP color sensor with f/1.6 aperture Leica Summilux-H lenses, PDAF, laser AF, OIS and 4K recording. On the front, there is an 8MP camera with f/2.0 optics.
The phone further includes a fingerprint sensor, IR blaster, 4000mAh battery and is IP67 water resistant certified. Connectivity features include 4G VoLTE, 3G / HSPA+, EDGE / GPRS, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.2 LE, GPS, NFC and USB Type C port. Using a cable, you can also connect Mate 10 to a monitor and avail a PC like experience (similar to Samsung Dex).
