Metal clad Huawei Honor 5X and new Honor 7i with a camera that flips out to serve as selfie shooter were showcased in China today and are heading towards Indian shores. Huawei is set to launch both of these smartphones in India in January 2016.
Huawei Honor 5X includes a 5.5 Inch full HD display and is powered by 1.7 GHz Snapdragon 615 with 2GB/3GB RAM and 16GB internal storage. For photography, there is a 13MP rear camera with two tone LED flash and a 5MP front selfie camera. The rear metallic case a brushed metal finish flanked by dimpled metal plates on top on bottom.
A fingerprint sensor is also present right below the camera module. For now, the handset is running Android 5.1 Lollipop with EMUI 3.0 on top. Both of the dual SIM card slots support 4G LTE connectivity. Honor 5X is powered by a 3000mAh battery and will play successor to Honor 4X in India.
Huawei Honor 7i on the other hand includes a 5.2 Inch full HD screen and replaces Kirin silicon in Honor 7 with Snapdragon 616 clocked at 1.7 GHz. You can choose from 2GB RAM/16GB storage and 3GB RAM/ 32GB models in China, but only one of the two shall make it to India.
As stated earlier, the same flip camera module with 13MP AF camera sensor and dual tone LED flash serves as selfie shooter. Other features include WiFi, 4G LTE, GPS, GLONASS, Fingerprint sensor and a 3100 mAh battery.
