HTC has today launched two new smartphones in India with the launch of the new U series. The HTC U Ultra and HTC U Play are two of their new flagship devices that come at a price tag of Rs. 59,990 and Rs. 39,990 respectively. As per HTC, both of these smartphones have HTC Sense Companion which is HTC’s new AI based system on the phone. This new companion is expected to make the experience of using a phone more personalized by learning how the user uses their phone.
Talking about the phones, the HTC U Ultra is a 5.7-inch smartphone with a QHD display and it also has a secondary display around the top edge. We have seen such screens in the LG V series of smartphones. This new screen is called the Priority Screen and it will be used to show notifications as well as Sense Companion alerts. The phone itself will be dual SIM and will be supporting VoLTE. As mentioned, the phone has a 5.7-inch QHD display and it comes with 64GB internal storage. It is powered by a Snapdragon 821 processor and 4GB RAM and comes with a fingerprint sensor.
Coming to the cameras, it will have a primary camera of 12MP with dual tone LED flash and Optical Image Stabilization. It also has a wide-angle selfie camera of 16MP which is good. The phone also features a set of four always-ON microphones which will be used for bio-metric voice unlock and also for voice commands. You also get 3000mAh battery and support for Quick Charge 3.0 for faster charge times.
The HTC U Play will come with a Helio P10 chipset and 4GB RAM. It has a 5.2-inch full HD display. It also sports a 16MP primary camera with dual tone LED flash, OIS and more. The front facing camera is a 16MP shooter with a BSI sensor. The phone is powered by a 2500mAh battery which comes with fast charging and you also get a fingerprint sensor. Both of these phones run on Android 7.0 Nougat with HTC Sense UI on top.
The HTC U Ultra will be available in markets starting 6th March and the U Play will land in the markets in mid-March.
