Hardware & Performance
HTC one is a powerful device since it is powered by a 1.7GHz quad core Snapdragon 600 processor along with 2GB RAM and Adreno 320 GPU. It comes with 32 GB internal storage and tons of connectivity features such as Bluetooth, NFC, Wifi, 3G, GPS etc.
The device is quite powerful and it is capable of running all the games available on the Android Platform. We did a small gaming test on the HTC one where we played Asphalt 7, Modern Combat, Nova 3 & Temple Run 2 on it.
As you can see in the above video HTC One is a powerful device and we did not face any problems while running those high end games on the device. So if you love to play games on your smartphone then HTC One won’t let you down. We even performed few benchmarking tests on the device to measure its performance, we ran quadrant standard, antutu & nenamark2 benchmark tests on the device.
HTC One is an amazing device in terms of performance. You won’t face any kind of lag or slowness while playing any kind of games on the device. It is capable of doing multitasking with ease.
HTC One runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS along with HTC Sense 5 on top. By default the device has a home screen called as Blinkfeed which is more like a inbuilt flipboard application. It displays news from various sources and your social media updates.
Users can customize the app drawer to display the icons according to their preferences. They can also choose the grid size for the apps – either 3×4 or 4×5 size.
The phone also has a IR blaster which is built into the lock key. So users can use the device as a universal remote using the HTC TV application. As far as the software part is considered we do not have complaints with the device.
HTC One comes with an ultrapixel camera along with LED flash. The camera can capture amazing photos in even the low light conditions. It supports simultaneous video recording & image capturing. The camera supports full HD video recording at 30fps. Here are some of the sample images captured using the HTC One camera :
The quality of the captured images is quite decent. In low light conditions the camera is able to capture extra light, the images appear brighter and the level of noise in these images were also low as compare to other devices.
HTC One is powered by a 2300 mAh lithium polymer battery. With moderate usage the phone easily lasted for a day. During the day we made few calls, surfed the internet, played Asphalt 7 for around 30 minutes, watched few videos and all are social media accounts were in syncing mode.
The phone has a Power Saver mode where it optimizes the battery life. We initially thought that the 2300 mAh battery won’t be sufficient for the device since it has 4.7 inch full HD display and a powerful snapdragon 600 processor but we were wrong the battery is enough for using the phone for an entire day.
