HTC One M9 has been officially launched ahead of MWC 2015 in a press event. It is the successor of last year’s flagship model One M8 and looks quite similar to One M8. But there are several other internal and external differences. Let’s have a look on detailed specifications.
HTC One M9 is fully made of metal and flaunts the same elegant One series design with some subtle differences. It has a brushed metal side walls while dual tone design allows for two colors to be used without feeling odd. HTC One M9 is come with matte metal back which offer better grip but there are no curved edges this time.
HTC One M9 has a volume rocker and power button below it on the right edge along with Micro SD card slot placed just above the volume rocker. SIM card slot houses on top left side. There is an infrared LED on top edge which is covered with a Black glass can be used as a remote.
On the front side, It includes dual front Boomsound speakers with Digital Dolby sound support and also a 4 MP ultra pixel camera. HTC One M9 comes with a 20 MP camera on the back side which is covered by scratch resistant sapphire glass.
HTC One M9 features a 5 inch full HD IPS LCD display with 1920×1080 pixels and Corning Glass 4 protection. The display shows vibrant colors and offers good viewing angels. HTC M9 has a good quality flagship worthy screen with the pixel density of 441 ppi.
Hardware and Performance
HTC One M9 is powered by 64 bit octa core Snapdragon 810 CPU with four 2.0 GHz cores and four 1.5 GHz cores along with 3 GB DDR4 RAM which is more than enough to run all applications and delivers smooth performance. It has sufficient 32 GB of internal memory with the expandability of another 128 GB via Micro SD card.
The camera has changed this time as 4 MP ultra pixel camera has moved to front side which is able to deliver you good quality images even in low light conditions. There is also a 20 MP rear camera with f/2.2 lens that can be used to record 4K videos. The success of HTC One M9 depends on camera performance in rear world situation, as it is the major differentiating factor when compared to its predecessor.
Software is latest Sense 7.0 UI based on Android 5.0 Lollipop OS. There are several customization options in Sense UI this time. New custom themes are there which allows you to easily customize the look and feel of your device. There is also a new version of BlinkFeed and other smart features like Smart home widget.
Battery and Connectivity
HTC One M9 houses a juicy 2840 mAh battery which is offering 25.4 hours of talk time on 2G and 21.7 hours of talk time on 3G network. It is good enough to explore new features throughout the day on a single charge. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth 4.0, A-GPS, GLONASS, infrared, Micro USB port 2.0 and NFC.
Pricing and Availability
HTC has not yet disclosed the price of One M9 while it will be available in select markets in Europe starting from today and will be available by mid of March 2015 in India. It comes in gunmetal grey with black accents, silver with gold accents and amber gold color options.

HTC One M9 improves on its predecessor, but doesn’t ambitiously improve over its predecessor. HTC is using almost the same design for the third time and it will be a big deal if it manages to impress consumers this time as well. Like all flagship phones, it includes the best internal hardware for smooth performance, but the success will heavily rely on its camera performance.
