Huawei today launched its next Honor flagship, the Honor 9 in Europe. The compact 5.15-inch display phone packs powerful specs underneath its aluminum and curved glass body and also flaunts dual rear cameras.
The rear glass has 15 layers of glass that uniquely reflect light falling on it. Interestingly, the fingerprint sensor has been shifted to the front and has interchangeable capacitive keys flanking it.
The Honor 9 is powered by 2.4GHz octa-core Kirin 960 chipset paired with 4GB/6GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. The SIM slot is hybrid, and thus for further expansion you will need to forego dual SIM functionality.
For photography, the handset combines a 12MP sRGB sensor and a 20MP monochrome sensor, each with f/2.2 aperture lens. The software powering the duo is Huawei’s own (and not Leica’s) that also includes a new low-light mode.
The software is Android 7.0 Nougat based EMUI 5.0. The phone includes 3D sound system and the audio is tuned by headphone giant Monster. The battery housed with is 3200mAh, but Huawei p10’s Super Charging tech hasn’t been passed on to the Honor 9.You can still replete it pretty fast with a 9V/2A charger.
The Honor 9 will go on sale in UK and other parts of Europe starting early July. The 4GB RAM variant will cost £379.99 and will be available in UK. The 6GB RAM variant will retail in France and Germany for £449.99. Both variants will be available in sapphire blue, midnight black and glacier grey color options.
