There is no branding on the front side of the device and the phones comes with three on-screen buttons. The phone is only 5.5 mm thick and weighs just 126.5gm. The best part of the phone is its screen size. It is not as small as 5 inch and not as big as 5.5 inches. It is a 5.2-inch screen which fits perfectly in the hand and is quite comfortable to hold in hand.
The volume rocker and power buttons are on the right side of the phone and the SIM tray which can carry two Nano SIMs is on the left side of the phone. The USB port, audio jack and speaker grills are on the bottom of the phone. Despite a thickness of 5.5mm, the 13 MP rear camera doesn’t bulges out in the back which makes it perfectly flat.
It features a 5.2 inch Full HD AMOLED display with the pixel resolution of 1920×1080 pixels and 424ppi. The phone delivers decent color quality and viewing angles are also good. Overall, we are really impressed with the build quality of the Gionee Elife S7.

There is an 8MP rear camera specially dedicated for selfie lovers. It captures decent quality images.
Gionee Elife S7 runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box with Gionee own UI, Amigo 3.0 in it. The UI feels fresh and new. It uses flat icons and pastel colors for giving it a refreshed look. An earlier version of Amigo was really slow and was criticized a lot. However, this time it is faster than many popular UIs.
Although, there is still an issue with the software. You will have to swipe up from the bottom of the screen to open the notification panel. Since, it is new and different from most of the UIs, it takes a long time to get used to it. Apart from it, screen buttons also come in the way while opening the notification panel and it takes a lot of practices to open the notification panel without actually pressing the on-screen button.
However, there is one app which is worth mentioning. The new Chameleon app uses the phone’s camera to automatically choose three colors from the environment and then it changes the theme of the phone accordingly. The app is fun to use and is really addictive.
