Fitbit launched their first Alta wristband last year. The new wearable tech was the company’s first try to launch an attractive and thin fitness tracker. They have now launched the Fitbit Alta HR which, as per Fitbit is currently the world’s slimmest fitness band that also comes with a continuous heart rate monitor. There are not many changes in terms of design as compared to last year’s model but you can see the new sensor of the lower side of the band.
Fitbit has also introduced a much better sleep tracking on the fitness band with their new Sleep Stages feature which can track your sleep and categorize it between deep, light and even REM sleep. The biggest improvement can be seen in the heart rate monitor which is now able to provide real-time reads on your heart rate so you can easily track the amount of calories you’re burning. The company has developed a whole new chip for the Alta HR which is what makes the new fitness band what it is. Fitbit claims that the wearable tech can easily last a week in a single charge which is better than the last model. You will be able to buy this new Alta HR for $150 starting April.
