In first three months, itel sells 1 Million Phones In India

Transsion holding’s itel mobile brand, which was recently launched in India, has reached over 1 million consumers. The company announced its phase 1 success while also detailing its plans for strategic expansion over the coming months.


As of today, itel is selling a total of 15 phones in India that include 8 feature phones priced under 8000 INR and 7 smartphones priced under 10,000 INR. iTell is selling these phones in 11 North-Indian states including Uttar Pradesh East, Uttar Pradesh West, Gujarat, Jammu and Kashmir, Bihar, Jharkhand, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Delhi, Rajasthan, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh.

 To augment its offline presence, itel has partnered with 325 distributors to make its mobile phones available across 25000 retail outlets. By the end of this year, itel aims to include 1000 distributors and 80,000 retailers in its network.

As part of its strategic expansion, the brand will expand its reach to cover Maharashtra, West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Orissa and North eastern states by August 2016. It will also boost its after sales services by opening 1000 service centers by the end of this year.

 Currently, itel a 100-day replacement warranty offering on all itel products, a unique facility in the mobile handset space in India. The brand is also optimistic about increasing its sales figures to 2 million a month by this Diwali season.
