Design & Build Quality

Both Xiaomi Redmi 2 and Coolpad Dazen 1 offer similar design and they are equally good in terms of build quality. Both the devices have a plastic body with a removable matte finished back panel. Redmi 2 weighs 133 grams and it is lighter than Dazen 1 which weighs around 155 grams.

Dazen 1 features a 5 inch HD display while Redmi 2 comes with a smaller 4.7 inch display. Both the display have 720×1280 pixels resolution but Redmi 2 offers higher 312 ppi pixel density as compared to 294 ppi offered by Dazen 1. Redmi 2 display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3 whereas Dazen 1 lacks it.

Hardware & Connectivity

Both Dazen 1 and Redmi 2 is powered by a 1.2 GHz Quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor along with Adreno 306 GPU. Dazen 1 comes with 2 GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal storage that can be expanded upto 32GB by using a micro SD card. Redmi 2 offers lower 1 GB RAM but same internal storage and it can also be expanded upto 32 GB.

Both the phones support dual SIM 4G, 3G, Wifi, Bluetooth and GPS. Redmi 2 also supports USB OTG whereas Dazen 1 does not have any such support.

Both the smartphones run on Android 4.4.4 Kitkat OS along with customized user interface. Redmi 2 comes with MIUI and Dazen 1 with Cool UI. We can’t really choose one device here as some users will find MIUI to  be better while others will prefer Cool UI.

Dazen 1 comes with an 8-megapixel back camera and a 5-megapixel front facing camera. The Redmi 2 has a similar 8-megapixel back camera but comes with an inferior 2 megapixel camera. Selfie lovers will definitely prefer Dazen 1 over Redmi 2.

Battery Life

Coolpad Dazen 1 comes with a larger 2,500 mAh battery as compared to 2,200 mAh battery present in Xiaomi Redmi 2. In terms of usage, battery on both the devices lasts for an entire day but still Dazen 1 will provide you slightly more battery life.

Dazen 1 is now available in the Indian market for Rs 5,999 where as Redmi 2 is available for Rs 6,999. Clearly Dazen 1 is a more value for money device and it better than Redmi 2 in terms of specifications. It offers a bigger display, double RAM, bigger battery and a better front facing camera.
