ChampOne C1 With HD Display and Fingerprint Sensor To Sell For Just Rs. 501
ChampOne C1, a smartphone with fingerprint sensor, 2GB RAM, quad-core chipset and an HD display will retail for just 501 INR. Yes, you heard us right.
Close on the heels of Freedom 251 fiasco, another unknown manufacturer is trying to pull a similar stunt and since it’s already making the headlines, the strategy seems to be working.
ChampOne’s benevolence, however, will last for the first flash sale only and is conditional. You can register beforehand and participate in the sale on 2nd September at 11:00 AM. Obviously the whole thing is a marketing sceme, the stocks are expected to be scarce. We would advice you against keeping your hopes up.
And now we come to the conditional part. To register for the first flash sale, you will also need to be a consumer of the company. To be a customer, you need to pay Rs. 51 and register for the company’s Clean Master App. This shall then generate a serial number which will be required to participate in the subsidized sale.
For now, the registration link is broken and the page notifies that the company is having trouble with its payment gateway partner, Avenue India, and thus the process has been halted.
ChampOne’s website seems equally untrustworthy. There is scarcely any information about the company and the content is full of grammatical mistakes.
Talking of features and specifications, ChampOne C1 comes with a 5-inch HD display and is powered by 1.3GHz quad-core MT6735 processor, paired with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage. The handset also includes 4G LTE connectivity, 8MP rear camera, 5MP selfie camera and a fingerprint sensor. After the first flash sale, ChampOne C1 will retail for 7,999 INR.
For now, we would advise you to be cautious and steer clear of the whole thing.
