Canon today launched the EOS C200 digital cinema camera for professionals that supports on-camera recording of 4K video in both the MP4 and the new Cinema RAW Light format. The camera is designed for wide-ranging video productions such as movies, TV serials and commercials, as well as news, documentaries and milestones events like weddings.
It features new Dual DIGIC DV 6 image processing platform. The dual AF pixel sensor, the camera can quickly lock and track focus. Using the LM-V1 touch-panel LCD monitor you can also avail touch to focus functionality.
The EOS C200 delivers a maximum 15-stop equivalent wide dynamic range for 4K HDR video recording in Cinema RAW Light format, and a maximum 13-stop equivalent in MP4 format that employs Canon’s proprietary Log gammas.
Canon will also release a firmware update early next year that will add support for XF-AVC (YCbCr 4:2:0 8bit) video format used by such digital cinema cameras as the EOS C700 /EOS C700 GS PL and EOS C300 Mark II.
Other accessories include with EOS C200 are GR-V1 camera grip and HDU-2 handle unit. CL-V2 clamp base will be sold separately. The EOS C200 digital cinema will be available for purchase starting August 2017.
