Asus started 2016 with the launch of Zenfone Max, a massive 5000mAh battery phone which will retail on Flipkart and Amazon for affordable price of 9,999 INR.
The Asus Zenfone Max comes with a 5.5 Inch display with reasonable 720 x 1280 pixel HD resolution, protected by Corninn Gorilla Glass 4. It is powered by 1.0 GHz Snapdragon 410 quad core processor with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage, which shall be good enough for basic and moderate users.
On the camera front, there is a 13MP rear camera with F2.0 wide aperture lens, true tone LED falsh and Laser AF. A 5MP selfie camera with wide aperture, wide angle lens is also present at the front end. Camera hardware sounds pretty good, considering that this is an under 10k device.
Coming back to its primary highlight, the 5000 mAh battery will last for 37.6 hours of 3G talk time or 32.5 hours of Wi-Fi web browsing or 72.9 hours of music playback or 22.6 hours of video playback, according to Asus.
The big battery however makes this phone heavy. Asus Zenfone Max is 10.5 mm thick and weighs 202 grams. Other features include 4G LTE / 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS.
