Apple held its Spring forward event last night and made several interesting announcements. We finally have a price and closer look at Apple Watch and also know what the newly engineered, slim and light MacBook is all about.
Apple watch was the star of show last night. Everyone was already looking at it as a wearable defining smartwatch even before official launch. Apple Watch will be available in three variants which include Sport, Steel and Watch edition.
Apple Watch boats of an all day battery backup, intuitive interface and a digital crown, which can be used for scrolling pages and more. The retina HD display is covered by sapphire glass. Apple has included several sensors including heart rate monitor for its use in fitness applications. A taptic engine is also present to deliver varied vibration feedback for different notifications.
There are several apps and even apple pay available on the watch. Developers will further enhance functionality of the watch in coming time.
The price ranges from $349 to up to $17,000 dollars, depending on which model you choose. As the price increases, you will get more premium metal casing for the apple watch. The $17,000 has a 18k Rose Gold frame.
Each watch will be available in 32 mm and 42 mm size, for women and men. Stainless steel watch options start from $549. Apple Watch will be available in US, UK, China, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Japan and Hong Kong starting from 24th April. Pre-orders start from April 10, 2015.
New 12 Inch MacBook
Apple introduced its 12 Inch MacBook which is even thinner than MacBook Air at 13.1 mm and weighs just 907 grams. The MacBook is crafted with a metal finish and flaunts a fanless design. The slim form factor has been achieved by eliminating a lot of ports.
This machine features one USB C port which acts as both charging and connectivity port. The trackpad is also unique as it supports vibration feedback. Apple has used a newly engineered keyboard mechanism.
The 12 Inch retina display comes with a resolution of 2304 x 1440 pixels. The base model will be powered by 1.1GHz Intel Core M Broadwell CPU with 8GB of RAM and 256GB storage option. The higher variant includes 1.2GHz CPU, 8GB RAM and 512GB storage.
In India, the new MacBook will be available starting 10th April with the starting price of 99,000 INR. The second enhanced variant will cost 1,19,000 INR.
