Amazon India today launched a media streaming device, Fire TV Stick, in India priced at 3,999 INR. Amazon Fire TV facilitates streaming content directly to an HDTV and is equipped with a remote that can help you search content using voice commands.
You can stream content using apps like Hotstar, Netflix, Amazon Prime Videos, Voot, Gaana and more directly to your TV. You can also set a PIN to restrict access to mature content (for your kids).
On the inside, the stick employs 1.3GHz MediaTek quad-core processor paired with 1GB RAM and 8GB internal storage. Connectivity options include Dual-band 802.11ac WiFi s 2×2 MIMO, Bluetooth 4.1.
Amazon Fire TV can stream 1080p or 720p content 60/50Hz and supports all major audio and video formats. It also supports Dolby Audio, 5.1 surround sound, 2ch stereo, and HDMI audio pass-through up to 7.1.
As a limited time offer, customers in India will receive up to 100 GB of free data on Airtel Broadband and 4G home Wi-Fi devices, valid for three months from the time of activation; up to 240 GB of free data from YOU Broadband; six months of unlimited ad-free music streaming from Gaana; a three month free premium video membership from Eros Now; and one month of ad-free streaming from Voot and Voot Kids.
