Xiaomi has today unveiled an affordable smartphone- Redmi 3 in China just for 699 Yuan. Redmi 3 sports full metal body with textured back panel and comes in four color variants including Gold, Classic Gold, Dark Grey and Black. Let’s have a look on detailed specifications:
Redmi 3 features a 5 inch HD IPS display and backed by Octa Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 SoC where four cores are clocked at 1.5 GHz and the other four cores are clocked at 1.2 GHz. It packs a 13 MP auto focus rear camera with LED flash, PDAF, f/2.0 aperture and capable of full HD video recording. It also comes with 5 MP frontal sensor with f/2.2 aperture and 1080p video recording.
On the software front, Redmi 3 runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop with MIUI 7 on top. It is powered by 2GB of LPDDR3 RAM and 16GB of inbuilt storage which is expandable by up to 128GB using microSD card. Redmi 3 houses a 4000mAh non replaceable battery.
Redmi 3 has a Hybrid dual SIM slot which means users can use second SIM slot as a microSD card slot. 4G LTE connectivity is also supported. Other connectivity options include 3G / HSPA+, EDGE / GPRS, Wi-fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS, micro USB slot and 3.5mm audio jack.

Xiaomi Redmi 3 will be only available in Chinese market from tomorrow onwards with the price tag of 699 Yuan (7,000 INR approximately), but the company hasn’t said anything about global roll out. Since it features a Qualcomm handset and lies in a very affordable price bracket, it is likely to arrive in India sooner rather than later.
